The carved sculpture can contain the interior gesture and skin of a shoulder holding weight. From the opposite view, the stone retains the raw marble surface as it was found, the largest stone I was able to lift by myself at the time. Traces of water, the hand, a wave, and bone punctuate the intimate landmarks of the transformed surface, flowing in and out from each other, yet holding together in the same form.
