DROPS - 3 x 3 x 5” (Size Variable) - Hand Carved Paduak Wood, Lead - 2013 - Current

Hand Carved from a block of wood, each drop is a unique and self-balancing kinetic sculpture. The pieces are hollowed and filled with poured lead, the weight of which brings them back upright, in a dynamic similar to the keel of a sailboat. An original element in the series the Drawn Objects, symbolizing the blood in the body, they contain the approximate fluid volume of a half pint. Both soft and sharp they balance both feminine and masculine in form.
