3 x 3 x 5” - Carved Ophitic Basalt (Lake Superior, MN)

Ophitic basalt is a formation particular to the great lakes region that contains blue and red crystal formations within the black lava. As the stone is tumbled and worn down by the water, the harder agate like crystals give it’s a scaled texture.

The polished interior holds a droplet.
